THE STORM BEHIND THE GLASS

Rook did not seal the storm because he hated it. He sealed it because it once frightened someone he loved.

The chamber stopped the lightning from escaping. It also stopped the lightning from becoming anything else.

Containment can prevent harm. Containment without a doorway eventually becomes pressure.

Echo and Maven arrived as separate fragments of the same failed signal. Helping either one sends a trace of safety across the link, but neither can be restored without being seen directly.

No lesson is scored. No feeling is diagnosed. The world simply reacts.
